The French Manor Restaurant names new Executive Chef
NEWFOUNDLAND, PA, AUGUST 30, 2018 – THE FRENCH MANOR RESTAURANT PROMOTES LOCAL TALENT TO EXECUTIVE CHEF. New chef will bring culinary creativity and will support local farmers and businesses in an effort to continue The French Manor Restaurant’s high standards with a fresh new approach.
Keegan Marchand, from Lackawaxen PA, enjoys hiking, hunting, foraging, writing and playing music, snowboarding, skateboarding, kayaking, ice fishing and, of course, the culinary arts.
Growing up with the love and appreciation of good food, Chef Marchand was fascinated with what magical things his parents and grandparents were preparing in the kitchen. It was at that young age that he realized, “Food is more than just nourishment, it’s an experience. It's time spent with loved ones.” Reminiscing on how he was inspired, Marchand goes on to say, “During high school, my passion for food was transformed to a complete obsession while I started studying under Mrs. Sue Rowe, the Wallenpaupack foods instructor. Mrs. Rowe cultivated my creativity and love for manipulating food.”
Shortly after high school, Chef Marchand started working in the culinary industry, soaking up any information or techniques he could, while studying culinary arts and business management at Northampton Community College.
Cooking professionally for 12 years, Chef Marchand had the pleasure of working at many other great local AAA-awarded businesses such as the Settlers Inn, Glass Wine Bar, and Dyberry Forks. Chef Marchand’s passion for evoking emotion with food will certainly enliven one’s palate. With his fresh perspective on the culinary arts, the Logan family is excited to welcome his new menu rollout this fall.
