Bushkill Falls
Start your journey at one of the best waterfalls in Pennsylvania, Bushkill Falls! Often called “The Niagara of Pennsylvania,” Bushkill Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in the Poconos. With eight cascades and miles of hiking trails on its 300 acres, Bushkill Falls is a woodland oasis waiting to be explored.
Four hiking trails circle the falls, and each caters to a different experience and ability level. Beginners and walkers might enjoy the green trail, which takes about 15 minutes to complete. The red trail presents a challenging two-hour hike, ideal for more experienced hikers. Once your trek is over, Bushkill Falls offers lots of different activities so you can continue enjoying the site’s picnic areas, gift shops, and food vendors, and more!
Raymondskill Falls
Raymondskill Falls is the tallest waterfall in Pennsylvania. In fact, it’s just a few feet shorter than Niagara Falls! This three-tiered cascade is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The trail to the Raymondskill Falls is short and ideal for easy hiking. At the falls, you’ll find two viewing platforms. The lower platform provides a perfect full view of the waterfall, and the top is a great spot to see the upper pools. We recommend trying both platforms to experience the enchanting waterfalls from different vantage points.
Dingmans Falls
Dingmans Falls, the second tallest waterfall in the state, cascades down the mountainside at 130 feet. The path to the falls is one of the most frequented Poconos hiking trails and winds through a beautiful hemlock ravine. The trails are perfect for all skill levels so that everyone can enjoy the adventure. Although Dingmans Falls is only open from May to September, the journey to the falls is one you won’t want to miss, so plan accordingly!
Silverthread Falls
On the way to Dingmans Falls, you’ll encounter yet another of the Poconos’ wonders, Silverthread Falls. This narrow 80-foot cascade is located just 0.2-miles from Dingmans Falls, making it another of the area’s most popular scenic destinations. The thin thread-like waterfall is easily accessible via a wooden boardwalk that winds through a lush forest.
Hawk Falls
Pennsylvania’s beloved Hickory Run State Park is the proud home of Hawk Falls. The natural waterfall is 25-feet tall and offers a stunning sight. To reach the falls, hikers will enjoy a half-mile trek through a thick rhododendron, across an enchanting wooden bridge, and over a refreshing stream. At the end of the trek, take in the sounds of the rushing waters, and wade in the pool of cool water down below.
Shohola Falls
Shohola Falls is a popular waterfall and lake area accessible via a moderate, nearly one-mile loop. Hikers, anglers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers frequent this area year-round to experience the Pocono Mountains’ best nature.
