3 Reasons to Visit Susquehanna Brewing Company
Incredible Beer Menu
Susquehanna Brewing Company serves everything from a signature Golden Lager to a specialty, Southern Rye IPA, guaranteeing a beer to match every palette. If you’re looking for a light, seasonal brew, the Sunny Spot Grapefruit Shandy is a crisp, smooth beer that brilliantly combines the tartness of ripe grapefruit with the sweetness of summertime. For something with a bit more punch, the Toboggan Chocolate Doppelbock is a hoppy, chocolate beer that presents a playful balance between Munich, crystal, and chocolate malts and Hallertau Hops. Explore the full menu and find the beer that’s right for you!
One of Susquehanna Brewing Company’s best features is the long list of events that the brewery hosts throughout the year. If you’re visiting in the fall, Oktoberfest is celebrated at the brewery every September! The brewery also hosts release parties for new brews such as the recent release of their fun, shandy-style beer, Orange is the New Ale. Don’t forget to check the calendar before your trip to see the full list of upcoming events!
Tours and Tastings
We aren’t just blowing steam about the excellent free tours at Susquehanna Brewing Company: they’re on the list of USA Today’s “10 Best Brewery Tours”. These casual and informative tours are also very generous with the free samples! On the tour, they’ll explain the processes they chose to make the beers. It’s very interesting! And, since they brew some seasonal beers, it’s likely that there will be something new to sample every time you visit. The tours start at 2 and 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. If you have a large group, call ahead. They might work out a special time just for you and your group!
The tasting room is a relatively new addition to the Susquehanna Brewing Company. It’s an excellent place to try some samples or just have a pint of your favorite. The tasting room is open Thursday – Sunday afternoons and evenings. Check their website for specific times. They also have a small store where you can purchase mixed cases of beer, growlers, and branded merchandise.
