Bundle up and get ready for an action-packed day in the snow. We’ve put together a list of our favorite places to go snow tubing in the area. Plan to stay several days so you can visit them all!
1. Camelback Snow Tubing
Head over to Camelback Ski Area to enjoy some of the best snow tubing in PA. Camelback Mountain boasts the biggest snow tubing park in the U.S. and takes the fun to a whole new level. The park features 42 lanes and three hours of sliding time. You can even try galactic snow tubing for an “out of this world” experience! When the sun sets, race your friends down the mountainside in the middle of an LED light show.
Afterwards, stop by the Basecamp One Lodge and warm up with a hot meal. You can purchase tickets on the day of your visit for $25 – $35. They typically sell out, so we recommend getting there early! Camelback Ski Area is a short 25-minute drive from The French Manor Inn and you can go snow tubing every day of the week.
2. Shawnee Ski Area
Another one of our favorite places to go snow tubing in the Poconos is the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area. The park features single tubes as well as adult and child tandem tubes. With two conveyor belts to tug you to the top of the mountain, you can spend more time tubing and less time climbing. The two-hour sessions range between $25 – $30. You may also choose to enjoy a four-hour session for $40 – $45. The snow tubing park is open Monday – Sunday and is 45 minutes from the French Manor Inn. Make sure to call ahead for groups of 15 or more!
3. Blue Mountain Snow Tubing
With the highest vertical drop in Pennsylvania, Blue Mountain Resort should be at the top of your list. It is one of the only tubing parks in the Poconos with family-sized tubes, so your group can have the time of their lives racing through the snow together. The park offers 39 lightning-fast lanes and three lifts to whisk you back up to the top.
You can go snow tubing seven days a week for three or four hours at a time. Tickets range between $25 – $35 depending on the time of year, and you can get a great deal when you buy them online. If you are staying in the Poconos for an extended amount of time, we recommend buying a Park Pass for $110. It’s the best way to enjoy unlimited fun all season long!
