Spend a Day at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area
Shawnee Mountain Ski Area offers 125 acres of snow-covered terrain. Visitors can enjoy 23 ski trails, two freestyle terrain parks, and an awesome snow tubing park. There’s also a ski and snowboard school for those who want to hone their skills. So what else can you do at Shawnee Mountain? Take a look!
1. Explore the Trails
Shawnee Mountain offers a variety of trails to accommodate guests of all ages and skill levels. The terrain ranges in difficulty with 25% beginner, 50% intermediate, and 25% expert trails. Some routes are even open for night skiing on Fridays and Saturdays. The average ski season runs from early December through March, weather permitting. Be sure to look at the online trail map before heading out.
2. Visit the Terrain & Snow Tubing Parks
Perfect for more experienced snowboarders and skiers, The Bushkill Terrain Park offers jumps, boxes, rails, and stairs. The Incubator Park is ideal for beginners and allows riders to practice their moves before moving up to Bushkill. If skiing or snowboarding isn’t your thing, head to the Pocono Plunge Snow Tubing Park where you can ride down six thrilling chutes in single or two-person tandem tubes.
3. Check Out the Ski Shop
Forget something or looking for some new gear? The Shawnee Mountain Ski Shop has everything you need for a great day on the mountain. Skiers and snowboarders can browse a variety of equipment including boards, bindings, boots, and poles. The shop also offers jackets, pants, gloves, and other clothing to help keep you warm. Be sure to pick up a souvenir t-shirt or sticker to commemorate your trip!
4. Attend An Event or Festival
From fireworks in July to BBQ festivals in August, there’s always something happening on Shawnee Mountain. Visit the Pocono Food Truck Festival in October where you can try delicious eats from 20 tri-state area food trucks. Also in October, you can head to the Art On the Mountain show and admire stunning work from the region’s most talented painters, crafters, photographers, and sculptors. Upcoming events include the Pocono Puppy Palooza (so cute!) and the Autumn Timber Festival.
