Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm and What You Need to Know

If you’re fascinated by history and have a passion for the past, consider visiting the Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Pennsylvania! This living history museum preserves the region’s 19th-century agricultural heritage and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Spend a Day at the Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm

Public Tours

Guests can experience life on a traditional 1800s homestead by taking a Quiet Valley Farm Tour. Guides dressed in period clothing will take you to a number of historic buildings including the 1850s barn, Granddaddy cabin, and original farmhouse. You’ll even visit the gift shop and picnic pavilion. Farm tours are approximately three hours long and are offered on select days in the fall and summer.

Educational Programs

Quiet Valley hosts a wide variety of workshops and programs throughout the year. Basket making, woodcarving, soap making, and seat weaving are just a few of the informative classes offered in the past. Be sure to check their programs page for a full list of upcoming workshops. Each program is held at the Quiet Valley Engel Education Center or on the farm.

Annual Events

Farm Animal Frolic

Held each year in May, the Farm Animal Frolic is a wonderful event for the whole family. Enjoy games, kids activities, refreshments, and plenty of baby farm animals! Children can watch as chicks hatch from their eggs and admire newborn lambs with wooly fleece. There are even adorable baby piglets and baby bunnies. Be sure to take a wagon ride pulled by the farm’s beautiful Clydesdale draft horses!

5k Rooster Run

The 5K Rooster Run/Walk is a popular farm event and takes place each July. The course winds through the Quiet Valley property, taking participants past ponds, pastures, apple orchards, and historic buildings. Don’t miss the awards ceremony and raffle after the race.

Harvest Festival

Celebrate fall at the farm! The Quiet Valley Harvest Festival is held every October and features fun activities the whole family will love. Enjoy awesome folk entertainment, delicious country food, children’s activities, pumpkin decorating, a quilt raffle, horse-drawn wagon rides, and much more. 

Old Time Christmas

Old Time Christmas Tours are a holiday tradition here in the Poconos. During the month of December, Quiet Valley offers informative lantern-lit tours as well as complimentary hot chocolate and cookies. It’s the perfect way to start the Christmas season!
