4 of the Best Pocono Scenic Drives

You don’t need to plan a drive to see the gorgeous scenery in the Poconos! Here at The French Manor, we are surrounded by natural beauty. But when you’re ready to grease up your wheels and go, there are lots of Poconos scenic drives that provide some unique and beautiful views of the area. Discover the best Pocono scenic drives today!

1. The Summit of Big Pocono State Park

The paved drive at Big Pocono State Park leads to the summit of Camelback Mountain. This drive provides bird’s eye autumn views of Pennsylvania, and, on good weather days, New Jersey and New York as well!

2. The Delaware Water Gap Scenic Drive

The Old Mine Road at the Delaware Water Gap is one of the oldest commercial routes in the country. In the mid-1600s, the road became a popular route for farmers to take their crops to market. Many spots along the road have retained that history, making this a fascinating historical route, as well as a great Poconos scenic drive.

3. The Roebling Bridge

The Roebling Bridge in PA is a one-lane historic suspension bridge that connects Minisink Ford, NY, and Lackawaxen, PA. You can choose to drive or walk over the bridge, with a gorgeous view of the Delaware River.

The Roebling Bridge, previously called the Delaware Aqueduct, is the oldest wire suspension bridge in the nation. Only one car may cross at a time, but you can also park and walk across on the pedestrian walkway, enjoying views of the Delaware River. You might even see some nesting eagles!

4. The Picturesque Town of Milford

Milford is a picturesque Victorian village brimming with history, and the drive to Milford is full of natural beauty. The town’s positioning above the Delaware River means that streams cascade around the town toward the river. This creates some of the most beautiful waterfalls you’ll ever see, and it adds to the natural beauty of the town. In the 1800s, the classic architecture and clean air first drew the ultra-rich to Milford.

Today it is a sought-after destination for those looking for an escape surrounded by greenery and a quaint environment. After your Poconos scenic drive, check out the wonderful art galleries, antique stores, and historic buildings in Milford as well!
