There is something special about experiencing the thrill of ice skating in the Poconos at one of the beautiful outdoor parks. However, before handing to one of these locations, it’s important to check ice thickness. None of these locations are monitored by a professional, you are skating at your own risk. You can use an auger to measure the ice thickness, ensuring that it will be safe enough for you and your family. Department of Conservation and Natural Resources states that the ice should be at least four inches thick for individual skates and at least seven inches for a small group.

You can park near lot four, and you’ll discover a one-acre frozen area where skating is allowed when conditions are safe. You can also try ice skating at Hickory Run State Park.
