What Is the Best Way To Explore Poconos State Parks?

Try a Few Biking Trails at Gouldsboro

Popular with hikers and bikers, the elaborate trails at Gouldsboro State Park are sure to be a great time. This state park is home to Old Route 611. The now bike path begins at what used to be Route 611 and winds through Old interstate 507. This unique trail way was created after the completion of Interstate 380 and is now a beautiful overgrown road mostly used by nature-lovers.

Cast a Line at Lackawanna Lake

You’ll find year-round fun at Lackawanna State Park! The park is an excellent place for all kinds of outdoor fun, but it is especially known for its 198-acre lake. In the summer, avid anglers enjoy fishing from the pier, and in the winter, the lake is an exceptional place for ice fishing. The enormous lake is home to trout, muskellunge, walleye, largemouth bass, and more!

Discover Stunning Views of Boulder Field

Tucked away in the Western foothills of the Pocono Mountains, Hickory Run State Park features diverse habitats, extensive wilderness, glistening waters, and three scenic natural areas. The park encompasses nearly 16,000 acres, and it is home to a unique natural area called Boulder Field. The striking rocky landscape is a unique National Natural Landmark widely recognized for its beautiful ecological value.

Take a Hike at Tobyhanna

With more than ten miles of scenic hiking trails, Tobyhanna State Park offers some of the best hiking in the Poconos. This gorgeous park features a few different trails of varying difficulties. So, whether you’re new to hiking or a seasoned explorer, this park’s trail won’t disappoint!

Two of our favorite trails are the Lakeside trail and the Range trail. We recommend that beginners take the Lakeside trail. This popular trail is relatively flat and offers stunning lakeside views along the way.

The Range Trail is ideal for those interested in something slightly more challenging. The 6.6-mile round-trip trek will take you through various terrains, but many agree that this trail is well worth the challenge.

Endless Outdoor Fun in the Promised Land

With three thousand acres of forests, lakes, and streams, Promised Land State Park is a gem in the Poconos. The gorgeous park is located on the Pocono Plateau, and its natural versatility attracts people from across the country. Here, the possibility of outdoor adventure is never-ending! From a fantastic ski area to 50 miles of scenic horseback riding trails, Promised Land State Park is a one-stop-shop for outdoor adventure.
