How to Plan Your Next Trip to the Everhart Museum

The Everhart Museum is an age-old, non-profit, history museum in Nay Aug Park. Its founder, Dr. Isaiah Fawkes Everhart, was a Pocono philanthropist and practitioner. His intentions in creating the museum were to “educate and delight for generations to come.” See his dreams manifested during your next visit to the Everhart Museum.

Explore the Revolving Collections

Prepare to see everything from Pollock to Warhol at the Everhart. The museum offers an extensive collection of American Folk Art featuring paper works and local works created on media such as rocks, minerals, and plants. You’ll want to make frequent visits back in order to see the entire compilation.

In addition to its art, the gallery provides a plethora of natural history. Dr. Everhart was fascinated with the birds of the Pocono Mountains. The museum reflects his winged love with a large exhibit of ancient bird fossils along with some of the current Northeast natives. Discover the history of the landscape with a tour around the natural wonders’ portion of the collection.

Current Exhibits

  • “The Good News”

Zak Zavada’s photograph journey takes place on the streets of Downtown Scranton. The exhibit sparks interest and highlights the good news in our small-town community. In a world where we are submerged with images of prosperity, jealousy, and unattainable happiness, Zavada’s collection slows us down and helps us enjoy the things in life that truly matter.

  • “Paper”

This paper-made exhibit showcases the art of human beings. The idea behind the multi-artist platform is to combine the carelessness of everyday, mundane tasks with the carefulness of becoming the exception. You are sure to leave with a feeling of rejuvenation. Get outside your box in the most relatable way with this Everhart print collection.

Events

  • Everhart Honors
