Our Favorite Things to Do in the Poconos in the Fall

With dozens of great things to do in the Poconos in the fall, it’s hard to pick favorites. Here are a few things we know you’ll love! (Feel free to browse our blog for even more fun suggestions!)

1. Go camping or take a hike

The gorgeous Poconos are ripe with excellent places to camp. When you spend a few nights out in nature, you’ll be up-close-and-personal with the gorgeous changing foliage! Whether you camp or not, consider a hike for more scenic views of the leaves and environment. Seeing the beautiful waterfalls is one of the most popular things to do in Poconos year round!

2. Pick apples and pumpkins

things to do in the poconos in the fall - pick applesNothing says Poconos in the fall like an afternoon picking apples at an orchard! (Unless, of course, you’re picking pumpkins!) Check out Heckman Orchards for both apple and pumpkin picking, or Miller’s Orchard for apples, pumpkins, and sweet cider.

3. Get lost in a corn maze

The corn maze at Klingel’s Farm isn’t your average stroll through the hay-bales. This 11-acre maze is full of fun and games! Plus, it featured acres of pumpkin patches, wagon rides, barn animals, and more! It’s definitely one of the top things to do in the Poconos in the fall!

4. Taste fall at a winery or cidery

For a more “adult” taste of fall, check out some of the incredible Poconos wineries! RAW Urban Winery and Hard Cidery has a delicious cider that will help you kick off your fall right!

5. Enjoy a scenic drive

Driving down winding roads as leaves flutter and fall is a classic autumn experience! You can’t go wrong here, but you might try heading down to Lake Wallenpaupack or to the Delaware Water Gap.

6. View fall colors from a train

Seasonal excursions are offered at the Steamtown National Historic Site and the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. The best part is, no one has to pay attention to the road: all you have to do is enjoy!
