Here Are Some of our Favorite Places For Poconos Camping!

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area

The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is one of our favorite places to be outdoors. For camping, they are home to 3 developed campgrounds. Dingmans Campground is the largest of these and has 133 campsites. Open year-round is their Mohican Outdoor Center home to 11 campsites in a wooded setting. If you’re feeling really adventurous, check out their river camping and backcountry camping.

Otter Lake Camp Resort

Otter Lake Camp Resort offers guests so many activities there is no shortage of fun to be had. Sitting on 300 wooded acres, this area offers families a 60-acre lake perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. For convenience, the resort offers campers deluxe heated restrooms, a convenience store, laundromat, and Wi-Fi. Guests also have access to lighted basketball courts, a game room, splash parks, tennis courts, four playgrounds, and hiking trails.

George W. Childs Recreation Area

George W. Childs State Park offers riverside camping, backcountry camping, and developed campgrounds. River campsites are available to visitors exploring the park by the river who plan to stay one night and continue down the river. Most are first-come-first-serve, but a handful can be reserved. Hikers on the park’s trails will appreciate the opportunity to rest in the small campsites for backcountry camping. Primitive campsites for groups are available, along with more developed campgrounds. This park is a part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, so you’ll be surrounded by acres of beauty.

Promised Land State Park

At Promised Land State Park, you’ll find six camping areas where guests can enjoy a night under the stars. The modern campsites offer amenities like warm showers, flush toilets, electricity, and laundry facilities. Rustic facilities are also available. The campgrounds are located just steps from the park’s beaches, boat rental, and refreshment stand. It is also near the picnic area, which features a playground, volleyball court, basketball hoop, and two picnic pavilions. Rustic cabins and cottages are also available. Be sure to check out a campground map before planning your trip.
