The lush forests, rolling hills, crashing waterfalls, and beautiful wildflowers make camping in the Poconos Mountains a memorable experience. While camping, you’re free to disconnect from the hurried pace of life, and instead take a hike up a mountain, kayak down a river, or simply enjoy the peace of nature.

Here’s some of our favorite places to camp in the Poconos!
George W. Childs Recreation Area
George W. Childs State Park offers riverside camping, back country camping, and developed campgrounds. River campsites are available to visitors exploring the park by river who plan to stay one night and continue down the river. Most are first-come-first-serve, but a handful can be reserved. Hikers on the park’s trails will appreciate the opportunity to rest in the small campsites for back country camping. Primitive campsites for groups are available, along with more developed campgrounds. This park is a part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, so you’ll be surrounded by acres of beauty.
